Everyone knows how important the elderly are to our society. They are our teachers of history and rays of joy in our life. Mayor Shaw has done a lot to keep them safe, secure and happy.
Dorchester Senior Center
The Dorchester Senior Center is owned by the Village of Dolton, and provides affordable independent living for seniors, ages 55 and older. The Dorchester, in conjunction with the Village of Dolton, hosts several events each year for the senior community, including summer barbeques, Thanksgiving dinners, Blood Drives, and other programs valuable to the community. Mayor Shaw continually works to alleviate some of the pressure on our seniors’ already cash-strapped pockets. He has worked with local and state agencies to get free cholesterol testing, flu shots, blood pressure screening and other health programs for the senior community. |
