The Dolton Park District offers many activities for the youth and adult residents in Dolton. Not only do they have many parks to choose from, but they have rental facilities, gymnasiums, workout equipment, baseball fields, tennis courts, a golf range and much more. Cascade of Jazz
The Village of Dolton hosts the annual “Cascade of Jazz,” summer program every Wednesday night from Memorial Day until Labor in front of the Dolton Waterfall at Lincoln & Park Avenues. Each week, hundreds of people from around Chicagoland and Indiana come out with their lawn chairs, coolers and grills, to enjoy the music and fellowship. Even drivers caught by the train roll down their windows to groove to the beat. “Cascade of Jazz” runs from 7:30 until 9:30 p.m. Admission is free for everyone. Parking is available at the Dolton Library and Village Hall. In the case of inclement weather, the show will not take place for that week
4 th of July
Each year, the Village of Dolton sponsors Dolton’s annual 4th of July Celebration. The festivities normally start with the parade at 2:00 p.m. Festivities then continue in MAIN PARK—AT GREENWOOD & IRVING—, with music, inflatable games, clowns, a talent show, and snacks. At dusk, the Village features the most spectacular fireworks show in the area! Everyone is encouraged to bring their families, their grills and an appetite for fun. As a special bonus, Mayor Shaw, the Village Board and other Village staff members have given away 10 19-INCH COLOR TV’S every half-hour, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Planning for the 4th of July Celebration usually begins in January. The Village looks for volunteers to help with the festivities in the Park. They also seek out organizations to participate in the parade, including elected officials, social clubs, bands, dance troupes and businesses.

The Melanie Fitness Center opened in 2001 and is the premiere health and fitness facility in the Southern Suburbs. The center has more than 9,000 members.
